Raising the Floor on Wi-Fi Sensing: Matt Wootton at Wi-Fi World Congress Europe 2026

Wi-Fi sensing has had a decade of great lab demos. The hard part has always been getting it to work at scale on the hardware people already own.

On October 8, Ivani co-founder and CTO Matt Wootton joined Day 3 of Wi-Fi World Congress Europe, Future Wireless Technologies, to talk about a different approach. Rather than waiting on CSI and new 802.11bf hardware to raise the ceiling, sensify® raises the floor. It runs on the RSSI signal every radio already reports, uses under 5 kB of RAM, and reaches devices through a firmware update. It’s already shipping on Zigbee in Philips Hue.

In about ten minutes, Matt covers why deployability, not capability, is what’s been holding sensing back, and what changes when the sensors are already installed.
